Instructions for finishing the quilt top

...

2 sheeps

Make two - you will need two different sizes - use copy machine and enlarge size of one sheep to approx. 5 x 5 inches.
Embroider or use permanent marking pen for details. Fuse in place - use the quilt picture for guidance.

Finished size: approx. 4" x 4" and 5" x 5"

 

Goose

Make one - embroider or use permanent marking pen for details. Fuse in place - use the quilt picture for guidance.

Finished size: approx. 3,5" x 4"

 

 

Butterfly

Make two - one in reverse - embroider or use permanent marking pen for details. Fuse in place - use the quilt picture for guidance.

Finished size: approx. 3" x 3"

 

 

Ladybird

Make two - embroider or use permanent marking pen for details. Fuse in place - use the quilt picture for guidance.

Finished size: approx. 3" x 1,5"

Follow the quilt picture for color suggestions as well as placement of applique motifs.

The applique motifs are prepared for using fusible bonding web and finishing the motifs with buttonhole stitches - but please, use your favorite applique method.

The quilt top has to be assembled before you can fuse or applique the motifs in place since some of the applique motifs are overlapping into the border. Pattern pieces are shown in reverse. Embroider details.

Quilt Assembly Layout and instructions were given in April.

Finishing the quilt:

Press quilt top carefully - following quilt picture, either fuse or applique the last appliqué motifs in place. If using fusible bondage, finish motifs with buttonhole stiches.

Press backing and quilt top carefully. Layer the backing, batting and quilt top, make sure all layers are smooth and wirkle free. Pin the layers together with safety pins, working from the center towards the borders. Use machine or hand quilting. Quilt around the different blocks, outline quilt around the applique motives.

Bind the outside edges with double fold binding using mitered corners...
